Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Conceivable, Inc. ("Conceivable", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares information through the First Period mobile app (the "App"), a free wellness and period-preparation tool designed for girls ages 7–12.

Because the App is designed for children under 13, we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).We collect only the information necessary to provide the App's features, and we require verified parental consent before any personal information is collected from a child.

1. COPPA Compliance & Parental Consent

First Period is intended for children under 13 and is subject to COPPA. Before a child can use the App, a parent or legal guardian must provide verified parental consent (VPC).

1.A How We Verify Consent

We use one or more of the following methods to verify that consent is given by a parent or legal guardian:

Credit-card or payment verification (a small, refundable charge)
Signed consent form submitted electronically
Government-issued ID check

1.B Parental Rights

A parent or legal guardian may at any time:

Review the personal information we have collected from their child
Request deletion of their child's personal information
Refuse to permit further collection or use of their child's information
Revoke consent entirely, which will result in account deletion

2. Personal Information We Collect

With verified parental consent, we collect only the information necessary to deliver the App's features:

Name or nickname — so the care-team characters can address the child personally.
Age — to tailor content to the child's developmental stage (7–9 or 10–12).
Body signals — simple check-ins about how the child is feeling (mood, energy, body changes).
Daily check-ins — responses to guided prompts from the care-team characters.
Chat messages — conversations with Kai, Olive, and Seren (the AI care team).
Voice input — voice messages are transcribed to text for the AI care team, then the audio recording is immediately deleted. We do not store voice recordings.
Parent/guardian email — used solely for consent verification and account recovery. (Safety notifications to parents are a planned feature but are not currently active — pending specialist and legal review.)

We do not collect: location data, photos, contact lists, browsing history, device identifiers for advertising, or any payment information from children. Subscription payments are handled by the App Store (Apple) and RevenueCat — we never receive or store payment card numbers.

3. How We Use Personal Information

We use the information collected to:

Provide the App's features — deliver age-appropriate content, personalize care-team conversations, and track body-signal patterns.
Power the AI care team (see §4).
Send safety notifications to the parent/guardian email when required. (This feature is not currently active — pending specialist and legal review.)
Improve the App via aggregate, de-identified analytics that cannot be linked back to any individual child.

We do not use any child's data for advertising. We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. AI Processing — What the Care Team Sees

The First Period AI care team (Kai, Olive, and Seren) is powered by Anthropic (Claude). On each message, we may send to Anthropic:

The child's first name or nickname
Their age group
Recent body-signal check-ins
Recent conversation history
The child's message

All AI requests include strict safety instructions requiring age-appropriate, supportive responses. The AI care team cannot access the internet, make purchases, or contact anyone on the child's behalf. We never send photos of your child to any AI provider.

5. AI Provider Training & Retention

Under our commercial agreement, Anthropic does not use your child's conversations to train their AI models. Anthropic's API usage policy states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train models. Anthropic may retain request data for up to 30 days for safety and abuse prevention, after which it is automatically deleted.

6. How We Share Personal Information

We share personal information only with the following service providers, and only as necessary to operate the App:

We do not share personal information with any other third parties. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of a child.

7. How We Protect Information

At rest — data is stored on secure, access-controlled infrastructure with row-level security ensuring each account can only access its own records.
In transit — all client-server and server-to-third-party traffic uses TLS.
Logging — application logs redact personal data fields.
Account deletion — a parent may delete all data at any time from Settings within the app. Deletion permanently removes all account data, including check-ins, conversations, and body-signal records. You may also email help@conceivable.com.

8. Your Rights

8.A Parental Rights (COPPA)

See §1.B above. Parents may review, delete, or revoke consent at any time by contacting help@conceivable.com.

8.B California Residents

California residents have additional rights under CCPA/CPRA. Conceivable does not sell personal information. Contact help@conceivable.com to exercise your rights.

8.C European Residents

European residents have rights under GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact us via §13.

9. Data Retention

10. International Transfers

The App is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the United States, information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our processors operate.

11. Health Information Disclaimer

First Period is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The App provides age-appropriate educational content about puberty and menstruation to help young people understand their bodies.

The AI care team (Kai, Olive, and Seren) are AI-powered characters designed to offer supportive, educational responses. They are not healthcare providers. Their responses should not be treated as medical advice.

Parents and guardians should encourage their child to talk to a trusted adult or doctor about any health concerns. If your child is experiencing a medical issue, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.

12. Advertising

First Period contains no advertising. We do not use any data collected from children for advertising, behavioral profiling, or marketing of any kind. We do not share data with advertisers.

13. Changes & Contact

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to the parent/guardian email on file. The Last updated date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
